In the investment community, a fiduciary will always make sure that you are getting the best investment for your situation. This is different from most of the large broker-dealer companies that are only required to offer you a suitable investment option. There can be a big difference between what’s best for you compared with what’s merely suitable for you. What is Jamestown like as a company? We are a people oriented business. We enjoy our relationships with our clients and look forward to speaking and visiting with them. We are also a small, team-oriented firm, with our members being blessed with diverse talents and experience. Integrity and transparency are critical in our business. Ours is a reputation-based industry, and we hold ourselves to the highest standards of ethics, morality and honesty. We lead balanced lives outside of work, and we are involved in our families, churches and communities. Our company is also growing, and we enjoy making new relationships. This commitment to the financial health of our clients and the growth of our firm keeps us in the forefront of money management techniques and strategies. How does Jamestown get compensated? Jamestown is a 100% fee-based advisor. This means our only compensation is a modest fee based on the size of your portfolio. We charge a percentage of your portfolio value at the end of each quarter. The annual fee starts at 1.2% for traditional asset allocation portfolios. This percentage varies depending on the size of the portfolio and the investment model you are participating in. In all models, larger portfolios result in smaller fees. This keeps our interests aligned with yours: The better you do, the better we do. Who takes care and answers questions about my investment portfolio? At Jamestown you will work directly with a private money manager advisor. While we often delegate paperwork to our staff members, we never delegate advice. Depending on your question, we can also involve your CPA, insurance specialist or other analysts we work with. We are committed to addressing your questions thoroughly and promptly with the right people. Is Jamestown Wealth Management a Law Firm? No. Although our advisors may also be attorneys who draft, advise and coordinate your estate plan, they do this work through Jamestown Law Group, an separate law firm. RIA firms and law firms are each regulated through separate state and federal regulations, making the formal division of entities necessary. However, we feel our affiliation is in the best interests of our clients, but who often find convenience and efficiency in the coordinated efforts of our attorney-advisors.
